ELT Teacher, Teacher Trainer & Educator, SIG co-ordinator, National & International Workshop Leader and Speaker
I hold an MEd, BA (Hons) in ELT from the University of Manchester. I have taught in many different contexts (primary, secondary, tertiary and private sectors) and courses including GE, BE, ESP, YL and the whole suite of Cambridge Exams. In addition to teaching, I am a teacher trainer and educator for Secondary education at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland.
I am co-ordinator for ETAS Swiss Cantonal Teacher & Teacher Educator SIG, which aims to create a thriving, inspirational community that unites teachers and teacher educators in the cantons of Switzerland.
My ELT professional and personal interests lie in effective and affective ELT approaches. Particularly, I am interested in methodologies and approaches that embrace a more creative approach to language teaching and learning. This includes using language as a tool to creatively develop and foster a positive sense of self as well as to learn and develop key life skills. All in all, innovative and transformative English Language Teaching that is fit for the 21st century.
I have given workshops and seminars extensively in the field of ELT both in Switzerland and abroad, including ETAS, IATEFL, Cambridge English Language Assessment and Pearson.
